Educational Work With Convicts Registered in Penal Inspectorates as the Main Means of Their Correction
The article discusses the problem of legal regulation of educational work with convicts registered in penal inspectorates. At the beginning of the article, the author notes that the activities of penal inspectorates are primarily aimed at correcting convicts. One of the main means of achieving this goal is educational work with convicts. In the context of the humanisation of criminal and penal policies, in view of the increase in the number of convicts registered in penal inspectorates, improving the legal regulation of this institution is relevant. The article offers options for how to solve the problem under consideration. One of the options is related to the introduction of the rules governing the educational work with convicts into the by-laws regulating the execution of sentences without isolation from society. These rules, in particular, concern the concept, directions, forms, subjects that do this work, the legal basis for the interaction of subjects of educational work with state bodies and public organisations. In this regard, the author defines the concept of educational work with convicts registered in penal inspectorates and describes the features of this activity.
