GUIDE FOR AUTHORS
The Russian Journal of Criminal Law is an independent research journal issued twice a year. The printed copies of the Journal are sent to subscribers only.
Subscription is available in the Russian Press Joint Catalogue (Subscription Index 46014). The full-text version of the issues is available at http://vestnik.tsu.ru/crimjust.
On submitting the Paper, the Author agrees to the following:
The Author is fully responsible for the content of the Paper and its publication. The Editorial Board bears no responsibility to the Author and/or third parties for any incurred damage that might be caused by publication of the Paper.
The Editors are entitled any time to reject the Paper submitted if its publication violates any person's rights or breaches the ethical research standards, of which the Editorial Board is to inform the Author and the Author's Affiliate.
Non-property rights (authorship, the right to one's name, the right of integrity) to papers and materials published in the Russian Journal of Criminal Law are fully owned by the Author.
Property rights (the exclusive right) to the edition belong to the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education National Research Tomsk State University. The Publisher (the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education National Research Tomsk State University) is entitled to use papers and materials published in the Journal without paying any remuneration to the Author under a simple non-exclusive license that grants the Author the right to publish his/her papers and materials elsewhere unless other is specified by a written agreement between the Author and the Publisher.
The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education National Research Tomsk State University shall undertake whatever steps to make the Paper published in the Russian Journal of Criminal Law available to the public, including its reproduction, distribution both as part of the Journal and as a separate edition, on the Internet, archivation into electronic databases. They are also entitled to assign the above-stated rights to a third party on a non-payable basis.
Posting, reprinting, copying, distributing, publishing the materials of the Russian Journal of Criminal Law in the electronic, paper or any other form to non-authors or any other organisation is allowed only with the permission of the Publisher of the Journal and/or pursuant to the corresponding Agreement signed by the Publisher.
The Author's property and non-property rights to the materials of the Journal are protected in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation and the relevant provisions of the international law.
All the papers submitted are to be peer-reviewed.
The Journal does not charge paper submission, processing or publication fee from the Author or the Author's Affiliate.
The Author has no right to any remuneration unless other is specified in the Agreement.
On submitting the Paper the Author gives his/her consent that the Paper be put in any information and legal systems, as well as on the Internet. The Author also assigns the right to copyright in the Paper.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The manuscript shall be prepared in MS-Word (.doc).
Figures, photos, illustrations and so forth shall be attached as separate files when submitting.
Graphics are published in black-and-white only. Full colour graphics are not available.
The following sections are required in the electronic manuscript file (each with a new line):
1. The UDC number.
2. Author's Last Name and First Name (Times New Roman, 14).
3. Title of the Paper (Caps Lock, e.g. ON CRIMINAL LAW IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION).
4. Abstract (no more than 500 characters with spaces, in italics, separated from the text body by a line space).
5. Keywords (3 to 5)
6. Text of the Submitted Paper.
7. Reference List
Font: Times New Roman
Size: 12
Line Spacing: 1.5
Margins: top-1.5cm, bottom-1.5cm, left-1.5cm, and right- 1.5cm
Paragraph Indents: 0.5cm
If other fonts are used in the manuscript, please, attach the samples when submitting.
Pages are to be numbered at the bottom centre.
Citations are to be embedded in square brackets after the quote with the use of the reference number, volume and page, e.g. [1. Vol.2. P. 25].
The Reference List is to be placed at the end of the Paper. It is to be arranged and numbered in the order of citation in the text, not in the alphabetical order. One number is to refer to only one source of citation. Each book item in the Reference List shall include the total number of pages. In case a periodical is cited, the item shall indicate the page numbers where the reference material is to be found.
Notes are to be given in the form of page-by-page footnotes with consecutive numbering.
If a footnote cites any information with the reference to any item from the Reference List, the number of this reference is to correspond to the number of this citation in the text body as well as to that in the Reference List.
Max. volume of the Paper is determined by the number of characters including spaces. The max. volume of the Paper shall not exceed 20,000 characters for authors with no degree and 40,000 characters for authors with a degree. In case the Paper volume is over limits, the Editors are entitled to reject the submitted Paper.

Please, do not use any contractions or abbreviations.
The Paper shall be certified by the Author's signature.
Please, label the attached file by the last name (e.g., Petrov.doc) and place it into the folder with the same name (e.g., Petrov) archived in WinZip or WinRar (Petrov.zip or Petrov.rar).
The Journal only employs an electronic submission system. By accessing the online submission system (http://vestnik.tsu.ru/crimjust), the Author will be guided step-by-step through the creation and uploading of the manuscript file. See Guide for Authors – Submit Your Manuscript.
NOTE: Registration is required.
Once the manuscript has successfully been submitted via the online submission system, the Author can track the status change in his/her MY PAGE section.
