Correlation of criminal and civil ways to protect honour, dignity and reputation
Honour, dignity, and reputation are undoubtedly important for a person, so there must be effective mechanisms to protect violated rights at the legislative level. Criminal and civil law methods of protection of honour, dignity, and reputation have much in common, but at the same time they differ significantly. Both are preventive in nature and aimed at eliminating the wrongful act and restoring the violated right. Criminal and civil law protection of the violated right is carried out through an appropriate prohibition, the violation of which inevitably entails criminal or delictual liability, obliging the injurer to undergo unfavourable encumbrances caused by bringing them to criminal liability, or obligating to commit certain actions in order to eliminate the consequences of delict and restoration of violated rights.
