Prevention of industrial injuries of convicts engaged in paid labour in correctional facilities: Questions and answers
The article analyses the information obtained as a result of questioning the employees of the production and technical services of federal state correctional institutions on problems related to low rates of bringing convicts to disciplinary responsibility for violations of labour protection requirements in labour adaptation centres for convicts and production workshops of correctional facilities. The causes that influence these indicators are identified, and recommendations and measures aimed at preventing and reducing industrial injuries are proposed. As practice shows, the existing rules of law are not sufficient for an effective impact on convicts violating the requirements of labour protection and for regulating the existing legal relations. The practical value of the study the author conducted is seen in the ability to delineate responsibility arising from violations of labour protection requirements and a possible accident by attributing part of the fault from the administration of correctional facilities to convicts involved in labour.
