Classification of Crimes Causing Damage to Honor, Dignity and Reputation

The classification of the phenomena in any research paradigm is of great importance, since it gives such phenomena a certain struc-turedness, which makes it possible to characterize their features in more detail. Classification of crimes contributes to their distinction and correct qualifications. This research analyses the types of crimes that harm honor, dignity, and reputation. The classification of crimes detrimental to honor, dignity, reputation is a certain complexity due to the specific approach of the legislator to the legal protection of these intangible benefits. Such benefits are protected by special rules designed, primarily, to protect other objects. The author argues that the acts under study should be distinguished in a broad and narrow sense of the word. She suggests classifying types of crimes that harm honor, dignity, reputation on the grounds of the objective and subjective side and by the features related to the victim.
