Ecological Crimes in Russian Legislation from Russian Truth to Modern Law
The article describes environmental crimes in the Russian criminal legislation in a historical aspect, starting from the Russian Truth to modern criminal law. It discusses the legal provisions of historical monuments of Russian law related to criminal liability for environmental crimes. The authors also analyze the Soviet criminal legislation and features of criminal liability for environmental crimes. The historical analysis results in conclusions about the formation of a separate branch of environmental law by the 1950s - the Soviet environmental law. The branch developed in the post-Soviet period, so the late 1990s saw the formation of an integrated branch of Russian environmental law with a defining imperative method of legal regulation.
