Coal-mining company museums in the sociocultural dimension of Kemerovo region in the early XXI century

Special features of Kemerovo as a large-scale of coal extractive center in Russia exercised considerable influence on development of museums. Origination of coal industry in Kuzbass at the end of the XIXth and at the beginning of the XX centuries, its further formation in 20-50 years caused coal industrial purposefulness of region's economy. In this connection, the history of coal extraction as a basis form of economic activity of the territory had been reflection from the moment of origin of the first museums in Kuzbass (20-30 years, XXth century) in miners' towns. Gain rich socio-cultural experience of miners' association a component part of material culture foe the coal extractive region has acquired special importance together with economic difficulties and fast-moving transformation of the 90th years XX century, which were accompanied by mass closing of mines. One of the results of reconstructural processes in coal industry has become the loss of museums' collections, archives, in the documentary evidences of development of branch in enterprises' museums. During the first decade of the XXIth century the need of socium of miners in keeping and popularization of professional, scientific and technical achievements, immortalizing of memorable events and the names of outstanding figures of mining has got new impulse thanks to stabilization and upswing of coal industry in Kuzbass. During the new social and economic conditions in large-scale coal extractive companies in Kemerovo region on the initiative of public and enterprises' leaders the museums were formed. Now a day the museums represent the important component of region's legacy, which is called "Shahtyorski Krai". Funded collections and museums' expositions of mines and coal cuttings include real museum objects, the vehicles of authentic information about development of coal industry represented with instruments of production over a period of enterprises' origination, means of protection, production documentation, photo documentary, memorial things, models of technical of underground and open coal extraction which document and transmit the history of town formation enterprises in Kuzbass. Historical-cultural potential of museum collection, communicative activity, which is out of enterprises, promote including given museums in socio-cultural space of region. During the process of realization of the main social functions the museums of coal companies become the centers of representation of miners' associations, form professional culture, promote patriotic education and the improvement of prestige of miner's profession.
