The role of higher education in the formation of the prestige of the profession of librarian
The need to use information and communication technologies in the educational process of high school is predetermined not only the development of technical systems, programming tools, the development of new multimedia technologies, but also the whole process of the formation of information society, the entry of Russian education in the global information and educational space. As a basis for constructing a model of information-educational environment of students training areas «Library and Information Activities» accepted system of disciplines, combining the traditional knowledge of librarianship and information technology, and presented as information products (automated library systems, information and referral systems, information retrieval systems, enterprise portals), and as a way of learning (presentations, online testing, placement of teaching materials on the university site, etc.). The effective use of computer technology in the educational information and educational environment in «Tambov State University named after GR Derzhavin» represented not only state support in the acquisition of computers, projectors, interactive whiteboards (in the framework of the national project «Education»), but supported by a grant to build information systems, databases and data banks, providing access to various online library systems. This attitude reflects the educational institution implementing the new paradigm of education, which is characterized by pereneseniev leading directions of development of education with learning great volumes of information, in order to accumulate its future, for the development of methods for the continuous production of new knowledge and the formation of ability to learn independently; prio-breteniev skills with any information with heterogeneous contradicting data, and the formation of critical and reproductive kind of thinking; focus on the principle of "form professional competence", raising the prestige of their future profession. Prestigious status of the library profession is determined not so much by economic factors as a way of life, behavior and world outlook of its representatives, carried out in collaboration with the community. The key problem of raising the prestige is low public awareness of the possibilities of modern libraries and their staff. The modern approach of higher education to prepare librarians to market allows qualified specialists not only know their business, but also represents the development direction of library sphere, its computerization and updating, including the youth, thereby enhancing the prestige of the profession and the librarian and library domain in general.
