Formation of young library specialists' professional motivation: from the theory to practice
Successful activity of library depends on quality and efficiency of employees work. There is a block of internal subjective factors for formation of positive motivation of work to which the skillful head of library can give necessary vectors of development. Among such factors it is possible to specify: content of the personnel work, organizational culture, labour conditions of workers, system of economic incentives, operating mode, professional education, etc. The youth in library labour appreciates creative kind of work, economic stability, social security, support by the management, the favorable interpersonal relations, possibility of self-realization, and possibility of increase of cultural and professional level. Taking into account these factors the head can create the corresponding conditions and build the personnel policy promoting inflow and fixing of youth in library. Positive experience in this direction is saved up in the Russian State Library for Youth (RSLY) where much attention is paid to creating favorable conditions of employees work and «the youth factor» of personnel policy is priority. In the Library the system of various forms of economic incentives of labour activity of young employees is applied. Optimum by the mode and comfortable working conditions created for the library specialist objectively «work» for his fixing. The positive role is played by the partner relations and the atmosphere of coauthorship with the Library management which delegates to employees the power to establish independently external business contacts, necessary for their successful professional activity, to get acquainted with innovative experience not only in Moscow, but also in other regions of Russia and in foreign countries. The youth is charged with the most creative sites of professional activity, the personified tasks which allow avoiding routine are given them. In RSLY all workplaces of employees have a free access to necessary resources, including electronic communications. Specially equipped rooms of food and a recreation of employees are allocated. For maintenance of a physical tone of employees the multipurpose training (fitness) hall is equipped. The library which is actively visited by users, which is comfortable by an operating mode, interesting according to the content of activity, differing in an actual range of the provided services, convenient spatial and design decisions, it itself becomes an attractive place of work for young specialists.
