The development of research skills of students in training «Library and information services»

The main types of independent work of students include course and diploma (graduation). According to the Federal educational standard of the third generation and curriculum FGBOU VPO «East-Siberian state Academy of culture and arts» in the direction of 071900.62 «Library and information activities» during the training, students perform a cycle of coursework, interrelated annual training on the job. An interesting experience in the organization of work of the Department in this area with students studying in the field of Information-analytical activity", approved in 2003. Each student works on a single theme throughout the training period. A logical continuation of the course work is the final qualifying work, which contains the results of independent research on the issue. Since 2009, students qualification «Assistant analyst information resources» specialty «Library and information activities» when writing the thesis in addition to the collection, compilation and analysis of the literature on the topic, create a database (DB), thematic digital collections. Work on their creation-tion starts from the second year and is divided into three stages. First, bibliographic stage is the identification of literature on the topic of the course work. The second analytical stage, students examine and analyse the documents on the subject, forming sections of the database and electronic collections; scan or PE-repetative the text documents in Microsoft Word, scan photos from various sources. The final stage of creating the electronic product - technical. To create the database and collections of students used a variety of programs: Microsoft Office Power Point, Microsoft Acsess, Microsoft Publisher, AutoPlay Menu Builder. Further disclosed subject databases and digital collections, compiled by students of the Department. Thus, such projects are indicative not only of the decision of students qualification «Assistant analyst information resources» research problems, but also the successful implementation of their creative activity.
