The "Imperial University" project

The article investigates the question of traditions and symbols usage of the oldest university as a resource for its modern development and successful competiveness. The author shows the role of Siberia's first and the last in Russian history Tomsk Imperial University. Special attention is paid to the use of the "Imperial University" brand in solution of today's tasks of the universities and the region. The research of prerequisites of two Tomsk universities entry the list of 15 Russian universities that will compete for the right to enter the TOP of the world leading universities makes this work actual and practice oriented.
