Library and museum: regional studies of the central library of Teguldetsky district in Tomsk region

Regional studies are one of the most important streams of the activities of a modern library. Local studies evaluates importance of events occurred in the study area, the significance of the people associated with this area, the value of architectural and archaeological monuments, rarity and the importance of natural resources. Modern libraries have ample opportunities to organize work on studying their area with the engaging active and interested readers. The Central Library of Teguldetskiy District determines regional studies work as a priority of its activities, with studying and promoting the historical, geographical, natural and social characteristics of the region and planting in younger generation love and respect to their native land. The main feature of the topic is the presence of Regional Studies Department in the structure of the Central Library of Teguldetskiy District, based in 2001 on the funds of Teguldetskiy Regional Museum, founded in 1994. Regional Studies Library Department today offers a variety of exhibits and collections of objects. In particular, «They defended the Motherland», «Russian izba», «Room of the 60s., XX century», «The fauna of Teguldetskiy district», «Human Pain», etc. Library readers are actively involved in the creation of the "Museum of one family", studying his own family history, collecting and evaluating objects (personal items, photos, documents) from the family archives. Students of district schools do active regional studies search activity to search for materials about their countrymen who died in the period of mass repressions and during the World War II. As a part of the funds of Library's Regional Museum it is a collection of thematic folders with documents on the history of the area. Thus, the activities of the Central Library's Local History Department of Teguldetskiy area is of primary importance, it allow readers to form a knowledge of their history, to love and respect their land, to proud of their small motherland.
