The role of the Biological Museum in the educational process
The Biological Museum of named after al-Farabi KazNU was organized in 1936. The modern life of the biological museum began with the opening of the showroom and exterior diopamas in the new building of the university in 1984. The museum has of the big hall with 3 sections and 84 built-in show-windows. In the hall there a presented about 80-85% of the vertebrata of Kazakhstan the majority of which is included in the Red List of MSOP and Kazakhstan. In these halls the biological material is systematized on the thematic direction, the main subjects of the biological science are the basis of it. As the result of such approach the following sections are performed: Biodiversity of bio-topes, ecosystems and natural zones of Kazakhstan; Evolution of the organic world; Nature Conservation; Additional material: maps, schemes, stands; Taxonomic section. The museum fund consists of the teriological, ornithological and entomological department. The beginning of these collections was put by the well-known scientists: V.N. Shnitnikov, A.A. Sludsky, A.V. Afanasyev, V.A. Selevin, V.S. Bazhanov, zoologist, National writer of Kazakhstan M. D. Zverev and other experts. The museum fund also is helpful in the educational process when carrying out practice , educational and industrial practice for students. Active visitors of the biological museum are students of main higher education institutions for whom both survey and thematic excursions are carried out. As a rule, excursions are followed by discussion of interesting questions on a subject. It is important not to note that pedagogical higher education institutions of the city are equipped insufficiently with a visual biological material that doesn't give an opportunity to inform in more detail the studied material. In this connection, the close contact of the biological museum with pedagogical higher education institutions allows not only to broaden horizon, but also to create skills of research work in students. The biological museum is also visited actively by pupils of secondary schools, high schools, colleges of Alma-ty and a suburb. When carrying out excursions the age of pupils, their physiological opportunities and degree of perception of a stated material is taken into account first of all. The figurative perception of new information is the characteristic of junior pupils, therefore their particular interest is caused by large and bright exhibits (for example, stuffed animals presented both in a collection material and in a number of bio-groups of a diorama and expositions). Excursions and classes to schoolchildren of primary education are given in a simpler form of a statement of a material, unusual examples are given. For pupils of senior grades the form of carrying out an excursion becomes complicated a little, the perception of a stated material goes more precisely and systematically, all sections of the biological science are considered.
