«Encyclopedia Museums of Altai Territory»: development of the concept and the necessity of the project

The article presents the experience of creating encyclopedias Russian Museums on topic on which developed and implemented a similar project in the Altai region. Preparation of publications based on the concept and developed on the basis of available information. Teachers and students of Altai State University (Barnaul), museologs, cultural workers and management of archival business Altai Krai involved in the project to collect the information . Encyclopedia covers the maximum number and variety of regional museums. In the introductory article's assessment will be offered a modern network of museums in the Altai Territory, grouping them by affiliation and profile. Exploring museums located in the region, will be implemented through the formation of a common information base for these groups museums. The history and development of the state museums of the Altai Territory: Altai State Museum of Local Lore, «State Art Museum of Altai Krai», «State Museum of Literature, Art and Culture of Altai», «State Memorial Museum Reserve V.M. Shukshina», «Altai State Memorial Museum G.S. Titov». Particular attention will be paid to the university museums. Evaluation private museums Barnaul, the history of their formation and role in the identification of the contemporary cultural life of the region and the first experience of this kind of systematization. Particular attention will be paid to the museum of history of pharmacy in the Altai. Most extensive (more than 50 institutions) the research team will municipal museums that work in cities, district centers and villages of Altai Krai. Among them «Regional Museum. V.V. Bianchi» Biisk, «Museum of the Mining Industry. Demidov» in Zmeinogorsk, Museum «City» in Barnaul, «Novoaltaisk Regional Museum. V.Y. Marusina», «Sibe-rian Museum», «Kolivan historical museum of stone carving in Altai» and others. Publication over collective efforts to create conditions for effective museum communication, provide quality tours and tourist activities in the region and identify ways to research. The book may become a kind of part of the branding of cities and villages in the region, Altai region as a whole. Important area of research will be the formation in the field of museology.
