Museum of science in Tomsk: proposals on the conceptual solution of the exposition

The scientific community of our city considers: it is necessary to create the museum of history of science in Tomsk. Tomsk is the scientific and educational center of Russia. In 1878 the Tomsk university - the first university in Asian part of the country was founded. For 135 years - from the moment of formation of university - many new higher educational institutions were formed here, the city was famous for a high education level. Authors of article tell proposals on the conceptual solution of an exposition of the Museum of science in Tomsk. They consider that the museum has to consist of two sections. First, the serious classical exposition including unique exhibits and exhaustive information on Tomsk scientists and inventors, about schools of sciences, about great value of our science in Russia and in the world; tours will be conducted here. Secondly, rooms for the interactive actions, intended for carrying out surprising physical and chemical experiments, here employees of a museum will be engaged with children. The museum of entertaining science and museum of professional science will perfectly adjoin and supplement each other. In the museum it is possible to present the past, the present and the science future in the squeezed, figurative and clear form, here pertinently to speak about own importance, about outstanding scientists. Some provisions of the scientific concept of the designed museum: Museum mission: acquaintance to history of world science, contribution of Tomsk scientists; training through immersion in experiment - entertainments - leisure. Museum functions: education of visitors, formations of the status of the region as science and education center, education of feeling of patriotism and pride to the Tomsk, promoting of achievements of science and technology, increase of prestige of the higher education, vocational guidance of youth, presentation of Tomsk schools of sciences. Main formats and principles of work: informative show, experiment, scientific development, possibilities of implementation of projects, creative communication with leading experts in various areas of science and equipment, possibility of demonstration of personal and collective achievements. Necessary condition is attraction of show technologies, use of methods of management by creative process and immersion methods in the video record (3D - technologies, holographic modeling, screens of the return projection). In the museum the electronic library, workshops on production and repair of interactive exhibits, storages, etc. will be placed.
