An introduction to reading in rural libraries (from the experience of libraries of Tomsk's district of Tomsk region)
Reading plays an important role in the socialization of children and adults. Different types of reading have an effect on the development of different personality traits. Speed reading skills, reading aloud, the ability to contribute to the understanding of the texts develop communication skills, awareness, capacity for empathy. The habit of reading is usually generated in the family, it is a part of a family education. However, it is now possible to face with the fact that the child not begins to read with their parents at home but they begins read school. Libraries are actively involved in the process of habituation of first-graders to the book and reading. For example, in some rural libraries of Tomsk region being targeted programs in "Family Reading." Implementation of these programs is usually carried out in cooperation of libraries and school teachers. With the help of these programs are attempts to make reading a tradition of family entertainment. It is obvious that at the present stage reading is rarely a part of the communication process. For example, such leisure activities as "loud readings" or joint reading aloud is becoming increasingly rare in everyday life. Raising interest in reading aloud can provide activities such as, for example, organized in 2014 interset-tlement central library of the Tomsk regional competition "Reading the classics", where children from the scene read excerpts from the works of classical literature. The effect of drawing attention to the public reading also gives part in the international action "Reading to children about the war". Among other tasks before the libraries are forming the reading tastes, support interest in reading, to ensure readers meet their needs in literature. As part of these tasks in the libraries of the Tomsk region, the project "Window to the world - and the best new books for children of the village". This project - a traveling exhibition of new children's books designed for different age groups. Library of Tomsk region are trying to carry out activities in engaging to read not only locally, with readers' local communities, but also organize meetings of readers of different libraries in the framework of competitions. Various events attached to different types of reading in rural libraries of Tomsk region is becoming more systematic because of using targeted programms.
