Transbaikalian Library named after Pushkin in the context of history
In the days of the Russian Empire Transbaikal region was a place of exile and hard labor. It is natural that the first library in the region was in Nerchinsk prison. As the number of mines, which used the labor of convicts increase, in the Tranbaikal region arrived engineers and other specialists with families who were rooted in here. Any person who reads accompanies library. As a result, the study of librarianship Transbaikal becomes an important component of the entire historical and cultural heritage of the country, greatly enriches our understanding of a certain stage of its historical development. Before the revolution the resources of Chita City Library, which became the forerunner of the Scientific Library named after Pushkin contributed by books of prison libraries and individuals gifts, so it is objectively became center of liberal enlightenment. In the post-revolutionary period Chita library reflects the ideology of the existence of the Far Eastern Republic, her readers are the Red Army warriors and the guerrillas. During the establishment of Soviet power its resources are used in the fight against illiteracy and against the ideological enemy. During the Great Patriotic War, Pushkin library is already in the status of the regional library makes a great contribution to the mobilization of the people for the fighting with enemy. In the postwar years, especially in the 60's-70's the regional library named after Pushkin becomes a powerful information center to help the industrial and agricultural development of the USSR, the center of the cultural achievements of the region. In the new century, its efforts are focused on technologization of traditional forms and methods of work in connection with the involvement of society in the processes of globalization and social and informational changes. The regional approach allows to study the phenomenon as a whole, as well as aspects against the backdrop of the Russian social and political change fuller and deeper on authentic materials (reports of activity for certain time periods, the archives of orders, statistical analysis, data slice of personnel potential of the certain collective and the industry as a whole, etc.). As a result, the process of influence of the state and regional policy for the development of library work, on the example of a Transbaikal Library named after Pushkin, becomes an essential component of the Russian history.
