Cyberpunk in Japanese cinema: specific thematic interpretation, artistic and imaginative solutions
1980-s - cyberpunk era in world cinema. Being an apogee of the sci-fi and cybernetic revolutions cyberpunk in Japanese cinematography is acting as the brand new genre, which represents the anxiety and pessimism of the human race in the technogenic and dark future. Being a product of Western culture, cyberpunk acquires qualitatively new features and gets the status of a cult phenomenon in Japan. The issue of this article is the phenomenon of national self-assertion of the Japanese cinema in the context of identifying the determining role of original philosophical foundations of culture. Cinema, being the brainchild of national and cultural identity, based on the value system of the society, traditions, moral and ethical settings, common history, etc., is an effective mechanism for cultural identity. The actuality of this interest is caused by a crisis of identity, characterized by a modern globalized world. As you know, trends conservation of cultural identity is not always successfully resist the growing unification of philosophical and artistic processes. The author of this article is trying to demonstrate the validity of the power of the national cultural tradition in modern Japanese cinema. The aim of the article is the identification and characterization of the features of a local area in the space genre of modern Japanese cinema as a cyberpunk. The fact that the author refers to this little researched aspect in the field of film art as an interpretation of artistically-shaped, ideological and thematic peculiarities of national cinematic language from the position its socio-cultural foundations of development leads to the novelty of the study. As a result, identified artistic, imaginative, and semantic features of Japanese cyberpunk. It was found that in spite of the novelty of the genre, its development in space of Japanese culture is unique and gives creative charge in the following decades of cinema. Thus, we find evidence that the original picture of the world of Japanese culture finds its vivid expression, including through the cinematic language.
