Semiotics of abstract / real in the Omsk artists' works
At a time when the visual forms of communication are the most common and important, the need of the awareness for ideological, pragmatic and existential sense of contemporary fine art is increasing. It is, of course, an important part of contemporary visual culture, exerting influence on the modeling language of visual communication in general. In the summer of 2015 in Omsk an exhibition project «On the Verge. Between the real and the abstract» was presented, the purpose of which was the representation of the creative search of a group of artists united by a common interest in the traditions of abstract art and its original forms and technique of the organization. Presented in the project works reveal the dialectic process of research the boundaries between reality and abstraction, analysis coexistence of natural and abstract forms, methods of transition of natural motif in plastic and plastic motif in natural. Artists, as part of society, while in the visual communication environment of modern society, reproduce and produce in his work some significant social, existential and ideological meanings that arise in the work both consciously and unconsciously. These ideological and existential intuitions, as well as socio-cultural context of art, always appear in the formal characteristics of the visual language of artist. Analysis of individual plastic language of Omsk artists allows to determine the potential inherent in their works as the communication mechanisms similar to those that were peculiar to the canonical art. In the process of converting natural motif in plastic image, creating an image-sign, landscape image, organized on the principle of musical structure, there are mechanisms of visual communication, which immerse the viewer - the recipient's visual and artistic information, in an environment conducive to the emergence of the feeling of co-creation. The existence on the verge of the real and the abstract in art is related to border of the socio-cultural life and the artist, and society as a whole, it allows to recognize the specificity of the interaction between nature, human society at this particular point in time. Our consciousness and perception constructs paintings plastic forms of the preliminary program. The audience even before meeting with the picture, is an accomplice of senseless, absurd, or conscious, creative being of individuals, society and culture in general.
