Specificity of the celtic world: the symbolism as a principle of unferstanding the world

The article deals with the Celtic world of culture, which is a kind of synthesis of the emerging religious, protophilosophical and artistic views, rooted in the depths of mythology. It analyzes the symbolic world of the Celtic epic. In the center of the study is the identification of the specifics of the Celts world as a reflection of the national identity of culture, where the principle of symbolization takes the leading position. The concept of research is determined by the understanding of symbolism as the vesting process figurative meaning of phenomena operating in a culture that allows forming an idea of the current conception of man in the mythological worldview, the underlying philosophy of the Celts. It is shown that the basic features of the world of the Celts is symbolism and totemism as ways to interact with the outside world; athanasia as a priority line of thinking. The study of the specifics of the Celtic worldview has led to the understanding of the clerical regime of Celtic society as a fundamental element, forming the variety of polytheism and social management system that determines the identity of the Celtic mythological worldview. Analysis of Celtic culture showed that Celtic society monopoly on intellectual work belonged to the priesthood. Besides, having the exclusive right to apply directly to the forces of nature and the gods, the Druids had practically unlimited political power. In the study of Celtic culture, it found that the most important aspect of the mythological world of the Celts is metempsychosis, the expression of which is clearly marked in the images of the epic art of the Celtic tribes of the position of the rebirth of the soul and negation of death as a direct end of life. A characteristic feature of which consists in giving the elements of inanimate nature anthropomorphic characteristics, develops into totemism, and then to pantheism, directly reflects the nature of Celtic ideas about the world around them. Elements of natural objects of worship are reflected in modern literary works and images of arts and craft. Moreover, it has created an unique style of Celtic art. It is proved that the images of Celtic culture is embodied religious, natural (animal and plant), the geometric and objective symbolism, particularly in the arts and crafts of the Celts used geometric, object, plant and animal species of the ornament.
