The unique image of the city in the context of the characteristics of the formation of architectural and landscape space

The authors refer to the problem of preserving the unique architectural image of Yeniseisk city in modern development context. The urgency of the problem is dictated by the fact that today's conditions require the development of projects for preserving historical city image, which has a long history of architectural and landscaped spaces formation. It is essential to create an environment that will suite for preservation of cultural heritage, become an integral part of a city, and include multi-function zoning and unified stylistic design. The article aims to identify the factors that influence the development of a city's planning structure and formation of a harmonious unity of unique objects from different eras. The current study is based on the research of historical formation of Yeniseisk city's architectural and landscape organization, as well as on the analysis of maps and photographs that reflect current situation. The present study of Yeniseisk city has made it possible to identify the main features in the design of the master plan for the period from XVII to XXI century. As a result, the trend of transition from wood to stone construction due to frequent fires and floods was discovered. Eniseysk city was discovered to have a large number of religious buildings that played a dominant role in panoramic city development and still forming the shape of a city, being its key feature. In addition, a very strong influence had the fact that the city still does not have a railway spur. This has "frozen" the city ceasing its development, and thus, helping it to retain its uniqueness. All these factors create a single architectural and artistic integrity of the environment - features that need to be considered if we are focused on preservation of historical heritage.
