Technicizm in the city image. The impact and ways of overcoming

New achievements in the field of science and technology allowed to change the city image. The densifi-cation of the urban space, destruction of natural landscapes, originally reserved for the normalization of the required balance of life processes has led to environmental crisis. The topicality of this article was an attempt to study the architectural and environmental problems of the modern city. The main aim of our research is to determine the influence of technicism on the modern city image, and finding ways to overcome it. The problem is that the spread of homogeneity and structural complexity, high-rise buildings, reflected in the city image, and led to the dominance of the so-called technicism. However, the degradation process of urban development in our country, the widespread reduction in the number of design organizations and research institutions, which deal with urban construction, landscaping and transportation, gives rise to irritation, developing into acts of street vandalism. The novelty of this paper is that the manifestation of technicism is considered on the example of the architectural image of the Magnitogorsk town. The article discusses the ways of solving the problem, thanks to the techniques of ecologazitaion, aesthetics and naturalization. It determinates the practical significance of our research. The paper content reveals the peculiarity of the above methods urban planning practice. Ecologazitaion involves the maintenance of the ecological balance of the city by means of landscaping. The aestheticization we are understood as organized by the interpenetration of the natural and artificial, art decorative and novelty, and memorability. Naturalization acts as the integration between the open "semi-natural" areas and vertical, horizontal and inclined surfaces of buildings, architectural structures in the form of a cover from a specially selected species of plants and eco-friendly materials. This paper identified positive and negative influence of technicism on the perception of the image of the city of Magnitogorsk. Proposed ways to overcome it, by means of greening, aesthetics and naturalization.
