«Place attachment in Siberia»: the emotional component in the structure of Siberian identity
The article seeks to explore in the terms of Sociology, Philosophy and Cultural Studies a content of the emotional component in the structure of Siberian identity. The aim of research is to analyze the "sense of place" in Siberia among the Siberian residents and the non-Siberian observers. Author examines two parts of the emotional perception of Siberia: the place attachment and timing Siberia as a resource. Article argues, that personal life experience in region as well as shared ideas and mythological and art constructs shape the place attachment in Siberia. Author came to conclusion, that the sense of place in Siberia is rather different among the Siberians. The aesthetic criteria of Siberia, its nature diversity and "exotic places" as well as economic motives and orientations are more relevant for non-Siberian observers, tourists and migrants. The place attachment of the Siberians residents is found to be inherently unstable and dualist: it includes the sense of local pride for the common past of the region, its nature and territory as well as sense of socioeconomic disparity.
