Authentication of terminology shamanic Buryats cult by the example of the concepts of orgoy and mayhabshi
The relevance of research. In modern world the processes of globalization lead to the formation of a new cultural community of people, embracing all mankind as a whole, and inevitably contributes to the unification of the cultural traditions, values and behavioral norms. These trends are progressive, irreversible, but as a result is manifest danger of gradual loss of many traditional cultures of wide variety of ethnic groups. In this regard, activities to description, to structuring and to cataloging of aspects of the traditional cultures of indigenous peoples, including the Buryats, acquires unquestionable relevance. Shamanic cult as the basis of religious beliefs of the Buryats an integral part of their traditional culture. Shaman's costume - a multi-complex of attributes which possess a complicated and often entangled semantics having deep archaic roots. But at the same time during the long historical stages of development of culture of the Buryats original meaning of costume elements repeatedly subjected to the transformation and upgrading, in particular, under the influence of other cultures and religions. The changes that took place at different times in the details of the shamanic costume of the Buryats are recorded by researchers of Siberian peoples. Historically, the Buryats is ethnically heterogeneous. Due to these factors, appears a variation of many concepts, which creates ambiguity in the description, classification and interpretation of many of the terms defining the attributes and elements of shamanic costume of the Buryats. Obviously, the actual task is to clarify the terminology of the sha-manic cult. This article is an attempt to understand the etymology of the concepts orgoy and mayhab-shi and give them a more accurate definition. The extent of the scientific problem elaboration. Attributes of the shamanic cult of the Buryats were the object of scientific study by S. P. Baldaev, D. Banzarov, C. J. Zhamtsarano, M. D. Zomonov, G. V. Ksenofontov, I. A. Manzhigeev, T. I. Mikhailov, A. G. Okladnikov, B. E. Petri, G. N. Potanin, E. D. Prokofieva, T. D. Skrynnikova, M. N. Khangalov, G. Ts. Tsybikov and other Russian scientists. To theoretical comprehension of the problem contributed a well-known foreign anthropologists, such as L. Levy-Brull, C. Levi-Stross, J. Fraser, M. Eliade, as well as modern experts in the field of shamanism W. Tkach, K. Humphrey, etc. Investigations to determination the etymology of shamanic terms, which expands our knowledge of the semantics of the costume and promotes to restoration lost ties with representations of distant ancestors of the Buryats are relatively few. In addition, they are ambiguously interprete the many important attributes of shaman clothing, in particular, such as orgoy and mayhabshi. Object of the research is traditional shamanic costume of the Buryats. Subject of the study is the attributes of shamanic costume of the Buryats orgoy and mayhabshi. The aim of research is a conducting of historical and culturalogical analysis of the origin, development and change of the attributes of shamanic costume of the Buryats and clarification of concepts orgoy and mayhabshi. The empirical base of the article are the results of interviews of shamans acting in the local community "Tengeri" (Ulan-Ude). Theoretical and practical significance of this article is the progress to understanding of shamanic cult, as an integral part of the traditional culture of the Buryats and as a consequence, in the preservation of the identity of the Buryat ethnos. Due to the comparative method of research based on the available ethnographic sources we can go from the particular to the general. Specific field studies, the most important part of which is the knowledge of the language of studied people, promote to deeper cognition of traditions of the ethnos and as a result an adequate interpretation of the results of the study.
