Problems of training of library staff in East-Siberian state Institute of culture at the present stage

Today in of the “East-Siberian state Institute of culture” (SGIC) is a two-level preparation of specialists of library-information sphere in the directions of the undergraduate and graduate 51.03.06 51.04.06 “Library information activities”. Within the current areas of training for FSES 3+, Department of library and information resources (BIR) is conducted training of bachelors on two profiles - “Information and analytical activity” - in full-time education and “Library and information support for users of information” available to students of the correspondence Department. Given the widespread adoption of professional standards and the need of implementation of the FSES 3++, 2016, the Department of library and information resources, steps were taken to change the curricula. One of the problems faced by the teachers of all universities of culture is the reduction of hours devoted to the study of special subjects. However, using the teaching of modern information and communication technologies, for senior courses are able to align the educational level of students and to form their necessary for professional activity competence. Reduction of terms of training in the undergraduate program led to the reduction of hours devoted to all kinds of practices. Considerable attention in educational process is given to writing term papers and final qualifying works. The topics are updated annually in accordance with the current problems in library and information activities are application libraries, and scientific interests of students. Another problem of training of the Department of library and information resources, as well, and other universities of the culture is the set of entrants on the direction of training 51.03.06 “Library information activities”. One way of solving this problem has become a national Olympiad in information culture, which the Department of BIR conducts annually. Taking into consideration the mandatory implementation of the professional standards Department is expanding educational services. On completion of the course received a lot of positive feedback from listeners where they state professional growth, desire to introduce in practice of work of their libraries of knowledge gained at the University. Thus, at the present stage the Department of library and information resources focused on training of specialists for the library industry in Eastern Siberia.
