The formation of architectural ensemble of hospice for lower middle class community in TOMSK (the XVIII-th - the beginning of the XX-th centuries)
The purpose of our research is to tell about the history of the territory development in the historic district of Tomsk - Voskresenskaya Gora. In accordance with the intended purpose, we have the following tasks: to study of archival and bibliographic sources; to conduct field investigations; to fulfil retrospective analysis of the territory development and analysis of its functional use, architectural and style features. The relevance of the study is determined with the problems of preserving the valuable historical and architectural heritage of Tomsk. The methodology of our study is based on an integrated approach and it includes collection, analysis of historical archival and natural materials with subsequent systematization and generalization of research results. The source base of the research became the archive documents, works of pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern historians and culturologists G.F. Miller, D.N. Belikova, P.M. Golovacheva, A.V. Adrianova, N.M. Dmitrienko and others, as well as materials of field studies carried out by the authors of the article. As a result of the research, we came to the following conclusions: - The territory under investigation has a rich history from the beginning of the 17th century to the present, which is significant for the formation of the historical and cultural appearance of Tomsk and for the Siberian region both; - Architectural ensemble of preserved architectural objects includes buildings built at different times which have different historical and cultural values. Moreover the building on Oktyabrskaya street, 2 - the construction of the middle of the nineteenth century, is an object of cultural heritage of regional importance; - The formation of hospice architectural ensemble is associated with significant Tomsk architectural objects such as the Holy Uspensky Male Monastery, the Resurrection Church and the first almshouse of the Department of Public Assistance and with the remaining buildings of hospice itself. In general, the considered place of urban development in Tomsk is an interesting combination of different buildings, including the earlier classic buildings and structures of the early twentieth century, subordinated to the main dominant of the area - the Resurrection Church. In this regard, this territory, formed by the beginning of the twentieth century, acquires a special role and becomes a valuable for preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Tomsk.
