Methodology for comparing various electronic resources when studying the peoples of Western Siberia
The Anthropology Cabinet in Tomsk State University (TSU) has a source database on the anthropology of the population of Western Siberia of the 20th century: the Chulym, the Tomsk Tatars, the Khanty, the Selkups, the Evenks and the Russians. The data were collected by TSU Associate Professor N.S. Pink during expeditions in 1948-1959. Anthropometric material is stored in the form of measuring forms, which are accompanied by photos (more than 1200 photographs). This information was entered by the cabinet staff into the TSU Anthropology Cabinet Database (available on the website of the Faculty of Historical and Political Studies, TSU). Photos are divided by ethnicity, supplemented by information from the forms. The authors propose a method for comparing database data with the metrics in vestry books in Vasyugan settlement. The source is characterized by high reliability as book keeping was strictly controlled. The Igarmashev family was chosen as the most representative one to compare the database data with the data of vestry books in this publication (6 photos in the TSU Anthropology Cabinet Database). The information for all Igarmashevs includes the year and place of shooting, the ethnicity of the person and parents, some data have reference to the age of the person. According to metric books, no information can be retrieved only about A. Ya. Igarmasheva, who probably came to Vasyugan later. For S.V. Igarmashev and M.V. Igarmashev, the age is specified, their parents are established and they are known to be siblings. The genealogy of the Igarmashev family was compiled, the family ties were built. Thus it can be argued that A.M. Igarmashev (photo 17) is the son of M.V. Igarmashev. The database also contains a photo of Stepan and Mikhail Igarmashev's sister - V.V. Polumogina, nee Igarmasheva, who married N.D. Polumogin. The photo of the daughter of Varvara Vasilyevna - M.N. Polumogina has been also identified. The age of M. Y. Igarmashev was also clarified; it turned out that he, S.V. Igarmashev and M.V. Igarmashev were cousins. When compiling the genealogic tree, it was discovered that M.Y. Igarmashev had several more brothers: Arseny, Egor, Boris. Despite the fact that their photos are not in the database, their wives and children were identified. So the wife of A.Ya. Igarmashev was E.S. Igarmasheva (photo 16). The date of their marriage, her age, place of birth, parents, maiden name were found out. The wife of E.Ya. Igarmashev was P.K. Igarmasheva (photo 12). Based on the genea-logic tree of the Igarmashevs, it was possible to add I.V. Igarmashev to the family (Photo 10). He is the grandson of B.Ya. Igarmashev from was born from his son Benjamin, died in the Great Patriotic War in 1942. As a result, 4 more people were added to the Igarmashevs' family (6 people). A comparison of the sources made it possible not only to confirm, clarify, correct and supplement the information specified in the TSU Anthropology Cabinet database, but also to establish family ties of some of the people recorded in the photographs, not only within the family, but also with representatives of other families. The experience can be used to study representatives of other families of small-numbered peoples included in the TSU Anthropology Cabinet database. Moreover, the updated data on families can be successfully used for comparison with other sources. Obviously, the TSU Anthropology Cabinet database is of great value for further interdisciplinary research and implementation of the development programs of the indigenous and small-numbered peoples of Northern Eurasia.
