Interdisciplinary as a driver of museum study's research vocabulary
A process of development of the museum world, theoretical research and innovations in museum work, IT penetration, interdisciplinary nature of museum study and museum practice determine a demand of widening and specifying of subject-matter research vocabulary. Evolution of system of Russian museum terminological units started in the 19th century; it continues through today. One of the key stage of this process was establishment of the International Committee for Museology (ICOFOM) of the International Council of Museums under the aegis of which there were undertook attempts for unification of a sum of museum terms and creation of international museums vocabulary. The first Russian vocabulary was “Shorter Thesaurus of Museum Terms” (1974), after this there was “Russian Museum Encyclopedia” (2001) that accumulated information concerning museum world of Russia, separate museums, outstanding figures of the museum sector, theoretical aspects of museology. In 2009, there was published “Glossary of Current Museum Terms” that summarized years-long process of field term system elaboration. Museum thesaurus falls under interdisciplinary nature because it is in need of interaction with various problematic fields from social, natural, and technological branches of science. Further development of museum communication is held to imply a use of a set of theoretical concepts took from psychological, pedagogical, and philosophical scholar knowledge. Increasing popularity of terms like “actualization”, “adaptation”, and “representation” points out on it. The use of a term “actualization” that came into problematic field of museum study from pedagogics and psychology is made for naming a mechanism of preservation and transfer of cultural heritage with museum means. But the area of application of the term is wider than it is now. Widening of museum world, appearance of new form of activities or resurrection of old, forgotten models of museum work gives us a right to use a term “actualization” arguing about also museum-forming processes, and marking the difference between concepts “primary” and “secondary” actualization. The current problematic area can include a term from psychological and pedagogical knowledge -“expectation” that explicates a mechanism of actualization of a museum form or museum collection. МежДисциплинарность музеологии как фактор развития терминологического аппарата 295 A term “representation” appropriated from philosophy and considered by the author of the article as “revaluation of a sense and value potential of museum collection that shown up by a conflict between changed reality and its anachronistic interpretation, and such mode of its presentation for a spectator that helps to intelligible explicate events of longtime past with taking into account contemporary mentality” gets extensive use in the modern museum discourse. Representation in museum space is a technology of return of cultural heritage, as well as a technology of adaptation. Widening of problematic area of museology and its interdisciplinary nature both determine adding on museum discourse brand new concepts; that is a natural process for life of science.
