Books from the private library of the first rector of the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute in the fund of the Research library of Tomsk State University

From the beginning ol Research library ol Tomsk State University's (RL TSU) existence, it has replenished their lunds through the purchase ol everything necessary lor scientilic and educational activities, and through donations. Many scientists, prolessors ol Russian universities, public and political ligures, dillerent organizations made decisions to donate their libraries to Tomsk university. In the 1920s RL TSU received many libraries ol dillerent educational institutions. Among them was the book collection ol the Siberian higher women's courses. In the early years ol the courses, some ol its teachers donated books lrom their private book collections. At the end ol 1912 year, the library ol courses included 600 books lrom the book collection ol E.L. Zubashev (1860-1928). E.L. Zubashev was a chemist, scientist, public and statesman, organizer and first director of the Tomsk technological institute (1899-1907). During the years of his life, he collected a good library. The beginning of the work with the library was the discovery of N.P. Kamenshchikov's book “Astronomical determination of the position of the balloon” (1907) with a gift inscription to E.L. Zubashev. This moment gave rise to work with this library. During the study of the identified books, it turned out that on some books there is embossing in the lower part of the root: “Е.З.”, “Е.Л.З.”, “Е. Зубашев” or “Е. Зубашов”; part of the books was interwoven in the same way into a cardboard binding with a gray fabric root; on several books, owner records were discovered in ink: “Е. Зубашова” or “Еф. Зубашев” There is also an imprint of the owner's stamp “Ефим Лукьянович Зубашев” on some of his books. At this step, only 30 documents from his library were identified. In this regard, now we will not be able to analyze the library of E.L. Zubashev in detail, but the data already available to us will help us determine the geography of the places of publication of books, their chronological and linguistic coverage, partly with the identification of the circle of communication. The book collection of Efim Lukyanovich can be divided into three parts: 1) books that were associated with the years of his studies at higher educational institutions and life in Kharkov; 2) documents of the Tomsk period of his life; 3) books presented to him by colleagues, friends and students at different periods of his life. In 1920, the Research library of Tomsk state university became the owner of the book collection of the first rector of Tomsk polytechnic university. The search for books by E.L. Zubashev in the RL TSU may allow in the future to collect complete data on his private book collection, which, by the will of fate, turned out to be divided into several parts.
