Problematizing some aspects of the fate of F.I. Chaliapin

The optics of attention turned out to be the question of the genius of the Russian bass Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin. The problem is investigated on the basis of biographical and analytical methods. It is believed that the appearance of significant things in art is facilitated by the internal and external conflict of the creator. Conflict was the essence of Chaliapin’s nature. Internal conflict, defining the external conflict of the bass’s relationship with the world, contributed to creative daring. The basis of the conflict was the confrontation in the personality of F.I. Chaliapin of the features of two opposite archetypes - Apollonian and Dionysian. It is hypothesized that the trigger that increased the internal and external conflict of the bass was a blow to the head, as a result of which he acquired Savant syndrome. This contributed to the overlap of two archetypal personality traits (Apollonian and Dionysian) and caused intensive functioning of both hemispheres of the brain. As a result, Fyodor Ivanovich began to develop intelligence effectively, which manifested itself in extraordinary abilities for art and contributed to an increase in memory capacity. Chaliapin easily mastered the knowledge related to art, showed attention to detail, memorizing life situations in nuances, which allowed him to create stage images realistically and emotionally. At a certain stage, these factors triggered the process of forming a Faustian personality type. Each of the archetypes, acting as a forerunner of the Faustian principle, when combined, contributed to the release of powerful Faustian energy in creativity. At the same time, the Faustian personality type turns out to be a romantic. For him, the standard is art, natural as life itself, and he wants to transform the world around him on the basis of an ideal. The titanism of the Faustian personality type, manifested in Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin, made it possible to interpret stage images in a new way and achieve world-class results. But by the end of life, the tragedy of the Faustian personality type is growing. Chaliapin realized the impossibility of harmonizing the conflicting principles of his soul (Apollonian and Dionysian, rational and emotional) and the impracticability of many desires.
