Libraries of Florence in a cultural heritage of Italy
The article is devoted to the analysis of process of development and progress of libraries ofFlorence as one of the largest centers of the Italian and world culture. The author considers the mostmeaningful Renaissance libraries, a role of their founders in formation of humanistic traditions of librarianship.The destiny of some libraries and their book collections are traced. By the example ofLaurenziana, Magliabechiana, Marucelliana, the contribution of the Florentine libraries to creation of anational and world cultural heritage is shown.Evolution and activity of National central library of Florence, its leading positions in conservationand digitization of manuscripts and rare books, propagations of the Italian cultural heritage in the digitalnetwork is analyzed.
