Features, results, the values and lessons of the protest movement Kuzbass miners during the transition to the market (1992-1999)
Kuzbass miners protest movement during the transition to the market has left a prominent, albeit controversial, mark in all spheres of life of Russian society. It was more progressive than in the years of «perestroika». The main reason for the positive outcome of the workers struggle of the coal industry in the 1990s. was that they fought primarily labor rights and political independence shown. Kuzbass miners' protest activity had its own peculiarities. The most important of them - the uneven development of territorial protest movement Kuzbass miners. A large number of mines and quarries, concentrated in many localities huge coal region, is uneven socio-economic problems, varying degrees of influence on them of trade unions and political parties. The highest value for the Kuzbass miners had socio-economic results of their struggle, primarily reducing delays payment of wages. In 1999, there are real signs of restructuring of production coal mining companies increased their profitability. Meanwhile, the protracted struggle led to tangible economic losses in the core sectors of the economy. Consequences miner struggle were reflected at the federal level, where they were no less controversial. The long struggle of miners did not lead to fundamental changes of political and economic systems of the Russian society. The relative success of the struggle have demoralizing effects on their political behavior. Subsequently, they were fighting not so much for the salary, how much for the opportunity to have a job. However, protests Kuzbass miners have become an integral part of the struggle of the working people of Russia for their social and labor rights in the transition to a market economy. Federal agencies have been forced to become more involved in solving the problems of coal miners, to intervene in the regulation of macroeconomic processes. Strengthen the role of civil society organizations, especially the miners' unions in strengthening the socio-economic and political stability in the region. Some lessons Kuzbass miners protest movement during the transition to the market have not lost their relevance today: 1. Need for extensive use in the economic activity of historical experience, primarily domestic. 2. Eliminating the backlog of economic theory and practice. 3. Expansion of political and socio-economic potential of the regional authorities. 4. Developing an open dialogue between the authorities and society.
