Linguistic school by A.P. Dulzon: from descriptive linguistics to interdisciplinary studies

Next year the Linguistic school of A.P. Dulzon celebrates its 70 anniversary. The elaboration of studies plan for Siberian aboriginal peoples and their languages is considered to be its starting point. The research potential which was founded by Andrey P. Dulzon in the 40 of the XX century have crossed the century's borderline and entered the new scientific paradigm of the XXI century. The long life span of the linguistic school was determined by the setting of the research problem which currently is also one of the primary scopes in modern anthropocentric scientific paradigm. Besides, during the descriptive linguistics period, A.P. Dulson proposed using systematic complex approach to study on the set problem, namely, involving archaeological, anthropological, ethnographical and linguistic materials for studying Siberian indigenous peoples. Andrey P. Dulzon's contribution is not only that he elaborated a prospective research program, he himself was a sample of a scientist working cross-disciplinarily: his contribution to archaeology, toponymy, linguistics is widely known in scientific communities. Several generations of his apprentices belong to A.P. Dulzon's school legacy. He was capable of organizing a big amount of researchers and students who provided succession of generations in the linguistic school by A.P. Dulzon. About 200 volumes of field notes on different Siberian peoples' languages are stored in the archive of Department of Siberian Indigenous Languages of Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The archive of the Department includes hand-written card-catalogues: 120 000 cards on Ket-Russian dictionary, 80 000 cards on Selkup-Russian dictionary, relatively small catalogues on other languages (Nganasan, Dolgan, Chulym-Turkic), 242 000 cards on Siberian, Far East and Central Asia toponyms. Scientific potential of Dulzon's researches currently is realized through expeditions for collecting and documenting Siberian peoples' languages, projects on aboriginal languages and cultures studies, the results are provided to a wide range of scientists in published dictionaries, monographies, experience exchange is carried out during regular international conferences "Dulzon redings". The studies level, set by A.P. Dulzon on comprehensive studies of Siberian indigenous peoples' languages in XXI century turned into interdisciplinary studies with application of modern achievements of computer, field, areal, cognitive linguistics, ethnolinguistics, social linguistics, folklore studies and other related sciences.
