Questions of «Soviet life» in the political debate of the 20s of XX century
The article aims to reveal the logic of the formation of ‘Soviet life' practices in the context of the political debate of the 1920s. To achieve the goal, the methodological approach ‘image of the future' was applied. The sources used by the authors are the works of the Bolshevist leaders, V.I. Lenin, L. D. Trotsky, A. V. Lunacharsky (reports, speeches, and memoirs). In the course of the study, the authors emphasize that after the establishment of Soviet power followed the process of imposing the Bolshevik ideology, including in everyday life. However, this was complicated due to the disproportion between the existing reality and the expectations of the authorities. Based on the opinions of the Bolshevist leaders the authors show how the government was going to influence society in order to establish new social relations as soon as possible. The key role in this process was assigned to the state. In addition, the article analyzes specific elements in the formation of the ‘Soviet life'. The authors note that each of the politicians suggested his own mechanism for introducing new public relations. In particular, V. I. Lenin saw a way to change the life of the masses through education and elementary standards of hygiene. Leonid D. Trotsky supported Lenin's standpoint and believed the formation of the ‘Soviet life' practice to consist in solving utilitarian and pragmatic tasks. A.V. Lunacharsky connected the transformation of the everyday life of citizens with the project of creating the image of a Soviet personality. However, later the position of Lunacharsky showed its inconsistency.
