The purpose of this article is to analyze special aspects of training employees of the NKGB of the USSR at the final stage of and after the Great Patriotic War. As sources for our research the following works dedicated to activities of domestic security agencies were used: The Kuzbass Chekists in 1943. - 2003. Pages of history / Compiled by V.V.Onischenko. Kemerovo. 2003.; State security of Russia: history and modern times / monograph / under general editorship of R.N.Baiguzin. M., 2004.; The Novosibirsk school of counterintelligence / under the editorship of V.A.Novikov. M., 2005.; Materials of the state archive of the Novosibirsk Region. F. P-494. Op. 1; Security agencies of the USSR during the Great Patriotic war. Collection of documents. T. V. Vol. 2. M., 2014. The People’s Commissariat for State Security (NKGB) of the USSR, formed during the Great Patriotic War, was in fact the first independent national body of state security as a separate People’s Commissariat body, providing solutions to the tasks assigned to it. In 1944 the NKGB of the USSR faced the acute issue of staffing security agencies with trained operatives, which served as the basis for the creation of a system of schools for training would-be counter-intelligence officers. One of the established in 1944 educational institutions of the newly created People’s Commissariat was the Novosibirsk inter-regional school. In the autumn of 1944, preparations began in Novosibirsk for the opening of the inter-Regional school of the NKGB of the USSR. Classes began in December 1944. Lieutenant Colonel Demyan Fedorovich Kaminsky was appointed the head of the school. I.P.Dupinsky was appointed head of the training Department. An important problem of the first admitted cadets was the low level of education of most of the candidates for study, which made it difficult for them to master the course curriculum, especially in Russian. This problem was solved by optimally organizing additional classes and strictly monitoring this process on the parts of the command and the public. In the conditions of wartime the staff of the school was able in a short time to establish high-quality training of would-be counterintelligence officers. Many graduates of 1945 proved to become capable officers and good organizers in the field of operational work. Some of them became heads of major state security agencies. Thus, the NKGB of the USSR in 1944-1945 managed to create a system of short-term training system for employees, allowing solving the personnel problem of domestic security agencies on the eve of the Cold War.
