Personnel policy of the gendarmerie department of recruitment of the leadership of the departments of the Siberian Gendarmerie District
On the basis of orders for the Gendarmerie Corps, as well as archival materials, the features of the personnel policy in the appointment of the heads of the gendarmerie departments of the Siberian gendarme district for the entire time of its existence (1833-1902) are studied. The author comes to the conclusion that in the first decades of the existence of the specified district, when choosing headquarters officers in the Siberian provinces, the gendarme department experienced difficulties due to a shortage of experienced officers, therefore the first provincial gendarmerie headquarters officers in Siberia were the people who had recently transferred to the Gendarme Corps. With the development of the gendarmerie, this problem has disappeared and the gendarmerie authorities have been able to send their already experienced officers, who have gone through a number of stages in the gendarmerie, to Siberia. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
