Magazine periodicals from the personal library of Professor P.A. Kulakovsky in Tomsk
The personal library is a unique experience of a person who, through his views, passions and professional activities, has collected different types of documents over the years. The choice of certain publications, the presence of autographs, notes, etc. make it possible to characterize the owner from different points of view. An interesting example is the personal library of the Russian Slavic historian, philologist, publicist, and public figure Platon Andreevich Kulakovsky (1848-1913). His scientific interests included the history of the Slavic peoples. During his travels in Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Platon Andreevich worked in local libraries with books in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and also tried to buy the publications he was interested in whenever it was possible and send them to Moscow for his personal library, including publications banned in Russia, which he needed in to write his scientific works. In addition to books, P.A. Kulakovsky actively bought periodicals in Slavic languages. This personal library is at the stage of study and research, so it is difficult to provide complete information about both the list of all publications and the periodicals in particular. There are very few works that contain information about the formation of the library with specific publications, and they mainly relate to the memoirs of Platon Andreevich himself about his travels to the Slavic lands. Some data can be found among his published correspondence with various public figures and scientists. The exact number of titles that his library includes has not yet been established, since the scientist's library itself was divided into two parts. One part of his collection is stored in the library of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Slavic department, and the other part is in the Research Library of Tomsk State University. The article examines periodicals from the personal library of P.A. Kulakovsky, stored in the Research Library of Tomsk State University. At the moment, it was possible to identify more than 3000 copies related to the library of P.A. Kulakovsky.
