Arthur Moeller van den Bruck as an ideologist of the Conservative Revolution in the appraisingof German historiography

The article points out views of the modern German historiography on ArthurMoeller van den Brucks role for the foundation of the German Conservative Revolution ideology in the Weimar Republic period. ConservativeRevolution was the most paradoxical phenomenon of German conservatism of the XXth century. It was am attempt to found a radicallynew German nationalist ideology. Arthur Moeller van den Bruck filled a special position in the Conservative Revolution as one of its founders.From the beginning German Conservative Revolution historiography considered Moeller van den Bruck to be one of the leading ideologistsof the revolutionary conservatism. The major attention was paid to his basic ideological-political concepts - the Third Reich, theConservative Revolution - and his views on external policy and international relations. The German historiography also researched preconditionsof Moeller van den Brucks political views development. Appraising Moeller van den Bruck as an ideologist of the Conservative RevolutionGerman researches underlined several features of his ideology and social-political doctrine which were typical for the ConservativeRevolution on the whole. The main significance of Moeller van den Brucks political views was that he appeared to be a founder of a certainpart of concepts revealed in the Conservative Revolution ideology. And this specific feature became a cornerstone of German historiographyresearches.
