Social Production revenues of the farmers in Kuznetsk Basin during the Great Patriotic War
During the Great Patriotic War collective farms of the whole country, including Kyznetsk Basin, served as a mainsource of supply of products and feedstock for the industry. The war made remarkable changes to the country-side life. There was a decreasein collective farms of the region. Sufficient decrease in the number of able-bodied citizens had also been shown. For good reason male depopulationwas extremely high. In April of 1942 the government raised mandatory minimum of the workdays for collective farmers (120). Incase of a fail to accomplish this definite number of days without a good reason the able-bodied farmers were sentenced to work-farms for upto 6 months with a deduction of 25% of the workdays in favor of collective farms. It was also legally practiced to evict from the farmland onthe reason of not completing this number of days. Documents state that the general output per annum of collective farms in Kyznetsk Basinincreased from 270 workdays in 1940 to 300 in 1944. Nevertheless rise of the labor activity was not followed with the rise of their income.According to all available data remuneration of labor in the region decreased: workday distribution of corns decreased almost in 3 times, distribution of potato was 2.5 times less. There was a slight increase in payments, but it didnt make any change because of inflation, shortageand high prices of convenience goods. In total national economy didnt maintain cost of living of the collective farmers. Private householdserved as the main source of their foodstuff.
