The discussion of Near and Middle Eastern policy-making in British Parliament and press in 1921
The study of the materials of Parliamentary Debates (Commons) in 1921, containing the discussions of various aspects ofthe Coalition Government's Near and Middle Eastern policy-making, allows to analyze various points of view, positions of political partiesand groups and their influence on the policy of the Government. The materials carried by the English newspapers such as Times, ManchesterGuardian and Daily Herald characterize the alignment of political forces in the country and give a chance to compare various opinions onforeign policy questions. Newspapers are a very important and reliable source of information about the developments in the Near East, politicaldecisions taken at the conferences and meetings of the allies and give better opportunity of understanding the Coalition Government'spolicy and some ministers of the Cabinet. The materials taken from the newspaper Times in particular, which reflected the opinions of theConservative party members, the City of London and the financial interests of the country, confirm the conclusion about the growing oppositionto the Coalition Government within the ranks of the party and the desire to return to one-party government.
