The process of internationalization of higher education in China

In recent decades, higher education system in China has undergone considerable changes. Implementation of the policy of openness, education reform, the WTO, and the inclusion of China in the processes of globalization have contributed to the internationalization of Chinese education. These processes are an essential element of the response to the economic processes taking place both in China and abroad. The process of internationalization of Chinese education includes joint educational and research programs, the Chinese and foreign universities, increasing educational exchanges and the increasing number of foreign students in China and Chinese students abroad, increase academic mobility of faculty and development of the distribution network of Chinese language abroad. This article focuses on the processes occurring in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau because of the specific administrative regulations and processes of social and economic development of these regions). In addition, the article examines the impact of the internationalization of education in China in the Russian education.
