The formation and development of political and legal views of Joseph Paul Goebbels in the Weimar period
Joseph Paul Goebbels figure is largely the key to the study of political and legal ideology of German National Socialism, for several reasons. First, the main thrust of its activities - propaganda clearly characterizes the essence of the totalitarian Nazi regime. Secondly, it is of all the leaders of the National Socialist movement and the regime has left the largest number of written sources, including diaries, articles, speeches, an autobiographical novel, «Michael». Third, there are two groups of sources: official papers and speeches and personal, that is, diaries can match them when drawing conclusions about what views Goebbels personally shared and believed in them, and which aired for reasons of political expediency and feasibility. The political and legal views of Goebbels in the Weimar period had such basic features as antI-democratic and antI-parliamentarism, the combination of archaic, expressed in the idealization of the peasantry, the negative attitude to the processes of modernization and modernism, to express and to emphasize the conceptual justification of fundamental novelty of the National Socialist movement, as well as the use of new methods of exercising power and the struggle for power, the most important of which was the system of propaganda. The development of the political and legal views of Goebbels in the Weimar period, a considerable influence of the ideology of the conservative revolution. Thus, in particular in the novel «Michael,» he borrowed from Oswald Spengler wording «German socialism.» This understanding of socialism is the predominance of the whole over the private and responsibilities of the individual to serve community. During his tenure as head of the organization of the Nazi Party in Berlin, Goebbels has made significant progress, notably consolidating party positions. He explained the need for the participation of the NSDAP in legal political struggle, using the opportunities provided by the political system of the Weimar Republic. But the purpose of this participation, he declared the need for parliamentary work NSDAP, and the destruction of the Weimar Republic with her own institutions. Another important feature of the political and legal philosophy Goebbels Weimar period was antI-capitalist rhetoric, expressed as hatred toward traditional German conservatism and positive attitude to the October Revolution of 1917.
