Russian family member: concept and its social and legal meaning

The article explores the concept and characteristics of the Russian family member; the ratio of the concepts of "family member" and "close relative." The social and legal significance of these concepts has been proved. Having analyzed the works of Russian and foreign thinkers, the legislation of the Russian Federation came to the conclusion that a family member is a person associated with other individuals by kinship, property, other circumstances of legal and factual order, living with them, leading with them a common life, common budget, solving other family tasks for general family benefits and benefits for each family member. A person associated with other people by kinship, property, other circumstances, but not living with them together and not solving jointly common family tasks, takes the position of a former family member. The features that allow recognizing a person as a family member are highlighted, the main ones being the joint life and activities of several individuals; maintaining a common household: a common life, a common budget, joint solution of family tasks for the benefit of the whole family and each of its members; kinship, property, other connection between several persons united in a family; every concern for each other and for the family as a whole; stability and duration of family relationships; social unity within the family and some others. It is substantiated that for a member of the Russian family the characters are special Russian values - priority and the statement of moral principles: mutual love; mutual respect; understanding; mutual solution of family tasks; caring for each other and the family as a whole; respect for other citizens; social and state responsibility, etc. Another feature of the Russian family member is concern for the welfare of all people on the planet, regardless of citizenship; nationality; religion; concern for the peaceful existence of mankind; help other people on the planet who find themselves in a difficult life situation.
