Friction and wear of ZrO2 - Y2O3ceramics sliding against steel at high speed
Sliding wear of transformation-toughened zirconia-bazed ceramic coupled with high-speed steel have been studied at speeds in the range 0.2-34 m/s and at a pressure of 5 MPa. It was shown that а continuous transfer layer formed to serve as a protective transfer layer on the specimen surface during high-speed wear.
