Indentation of an indenter into the surface of a stretched meshed linen

Resistant forces appearing in a meshed linen are considered as functions of deflection values at differenttensions. The experimental data, an approximate analytical solution based on the variationalequation of the virtual work principle, the results of numerical finite-element modeling, and anestimate for the effect of geometric characteristics of the indenter are presented.
