Problems of interpretation of jazz style on the example of prelude no. 2 from the cycle "24 preludes for pianos" or. 58 Nicholas Kapustin
The article discusses the interpretation of jazz in the work of N. Kapustin Prelude No. 2 Op. 58. The prelude is analyzed in terms of form and style. Performance techniques and difficulties are considered. Interestingly, the way that Kapustin uses to develop and transform thematism in Prelude No. 2 has traditional roots: it is motivational development, variations, contrasts, rhythmic transformation, mirror reflection in the reprise.
