Messiaen "Theme and Variations" for violin and piano

The article deals with the principles of interpretation of the variational form by the French composer Olivier Messiaen. Based on the analysis of "Themes with Variations for Violin and Piano", the authors draw conclusions about the flexible combination of the traditional and innovative in this work and the special meaning of the variation form for the creativity of the composer of the mature and late periods. In the article the authors also note the characteristic features of the technique of composition created by O. Messiaen, based on a new interpretation of the tonality and a system of symmetrical frets.
