Who needs modern composers?
Why today bards and rock musicians are not joined the Union of composers? - the question was asked. - Because they do not own means of all academic genres, cannot write, for example, the symphony score or a string Quartet - such was the answer. But whether symphonies or quartets are necessary today? - Yes, they are necessary - at least because with them composers open and work out a new methods and means of a musical expressiveness, make art "discoveries". Bards, as well as rock musicians, do not make such discoveries, they use only that was open in music earlier. Perhaps the "principle of a hit" opened by authors of a popular music that significantly changed perception, influence and forms of this music cannot be referred to the serious creative discoveries? - the question followed. Here I said "stop". Let's restore justice. Who said that "the principle of a hit" is a "creative invention" of authors of a popular music? This principle - as well as others - were opened by the academic composers, seriously thinking about how not to remain unnoticed today in a flow of sound. If we talk about domestic music, the first Russian "hit" is considered the theme of G-major fugue of Rodion Shchedrin composed in 1961. The following steps in this direction were the bright, short subjects-hits of Boris Tishchenko that began to sound in his ballet "Yaroslavna". It looks like this principle is also "invention" of academic composers. If to reduce all these things to a simple formula, it is possible to say: in 1961 Rodion Shchedrin wrote his first "hit" - G-major fugue, and at the beginning of the 2000th, the duo "Tatu" sang "Not gonna get us". So, whether professional artists, poets and composers are necessary today? - Yes. And what will be if society starts refusing them? - There will be an unconditional and inevitable rolling down in a "dense ignorance".
