Edison Denisov opera «Ivan-Soldier»

The article gives a complete analysis of Edison Denisov's early opera "Ivan the Soldier". Some signs of the "new folklore wave" and early manifestations of the composer's future style are considered. In the 50s - 60s of the twentieth century, for many young Russian composers, turning to folklore was the only opportunity for self-expression and renewal of the musical language. In the second half of the twentieth century, the problem of saving the national in creativity is topical. The opera "Ivan the Soldier" attracts attention with its "non-perfomed" after its premiere in Tomsk more than half a century after its writing. Separately, it should be noted that there is no detailed analysis of "Ivan the Soldier" in professional literature, although this work unexpectedly shows us "another" Denisov: more "easy" to perceive, filled with folklore elements.
