Air flow dynamics as a process of musical sound-extraction

The article discusses the functioning of musical sound as a complex of air waves. The definition of musical sound is formulated, it is emphasized that musical sound, unlike many sounds existing in nature, belongs to human consciousness and is an aesthetic fact. The concept of sound paint is introduced, which appears to be one of the most important qualities of musical sound. The illustrations given are drawn from the spheres of vocal, symphonic and piano music.
